Researchers calculated that about 8,500 tonnes of antibiotics – nearly one-third of what people consume annually – end up in river systems around the world each year even after in many cases passing through wastewater systems.</p></div></div></div><div class="field field-name-field-primary-image field-type-image field-label-hidden"><div class="field-items"><div class="field-item even"><img class="no-float" src="/channels/files/channels/styles/wysiwyg_medium/public/channels/image/gettyimages-1338041420.jpg?itok=Mc_X8Dsh" width="160" height="107" alt="" /></div></div></div><div class="field field-name-field-published-date field-type-datestamp field-label-hidden"><div class="field-items"><div class="field-item even"><div class="custom-multi-date"><div class="multi-date first"><span class="label">Published: </span><span class="day">9 </span><span class="month">May </span><span class="year">2025</span></div></div></div></div></div> Fri, 09 May 2025 12:45:09 +0000 webfull 209211 at /channels Dr. Victoria Glynn creates art to communicate science /channels/channels/news/dr-victoria-glynn-creates-art-communicate-science-365269 <div class="field field-name-body field-type-text-with-summary field-label-hidden"><div class="field-items"><div class="field-item even"><p>Authors: Ava Craig, Camille Taggart, Raphaelle Reyes </p> <p><em>"Art is like a common language that draws people in, regardless of their background." - Dr. Victoria Glynn</em></p> <p><a href="/ose/files/ose/victoria_glynn_headshot_circle_0.jpg"><img alt="Victoria Glynn Headshot" src="/ose/files/ose/victoria_glynn_headshot_circle_0.jpg" style="height:126px; width:125px; margin-left:10px; margin-right:10px; float:left" /></a></p></div></div></div><div class="field field-name-field-published-date field-type-datestamp field-label-hidden"><div class="field-items"><div class="field-item even"><div class="custom-multi-date"><div class="multi-date first"><span class="label">Published: </span><span class="day">2 </span><span class="month">May </span><span class="year">2025</span></div></div></div></div></div> Fri, 02 May 2025 18:13:54 +0000 webfull 209123 at /channels Provost honours 31 ƬƵ professors for exceptional research achievements /channels/channels/news/provost-honours-31-mcgill-professors-exceptional-research-achievements-365241 <div class="field field-name-body field-type-text-with-summary field-label-hidden"><div class="field-items"><div class="field-item even"><div><em><strong>ƬƵ announces 2025 cohort of Distinguished James ƬƵ Professors, James ƬƵ Professors and William Dawson Scholars </strong></em></div> <div><br /> Provost and Vice-President (Academic) Christopher Manfredi has named 31 ƬƵ professors as Distinguished James ƬƵ Professors, James ƬƵ Professors or William Dawson Scholars.
